School Programs

The LSU Museum of Art’s school programs reflect a commitment to education. These programs are intended to enhance school curricula, encourage innovative teaching practices, and contribute to the expansion of classroom walls.

School programs are tailored to the needs of individual classes and are creatively adapted to all ages and abilities. As schools embrace the Common Core State Standards, Museum staff is available to help teachers design a visit that innovatively bridges disciplines and integrates original artwork as primary-source material that can strengthen learning.

All of our tours are facilitated by a trained museum educator whose goal is to create a dynamic, fun, and inclusive experience for all. Tours may include a hands-on art-making component, a literary arts component, or a math or science component, and can be customized to support your specific curricular needs.

Our Museum Educator is available to work with teachers to present tours that align with their classes’ curriculum by exploring a variety of themes through the artwork in our exhibitions and galleries.
